I had all sorts of plans for these school holidays. Lots of fun things to do in Perth, enjoying Grandma and Grandad seeing just how talkative and cheeky Henry has become, things to do in Busselton ... instead we have been plagued by the worst cold / flu that has hit me in a long long time. It is now Wednesday week 2, school goes back on Monday, and I have been sick the entire school holidays. Henry has been feverish, coughing and cranky, Jamie ended up very ill in Perth and needed a trip to the doctors and some antibiotics. Got home from Perth and then Thomas crashed and needed antibiotics too - that's how bad this cold is, Thomas hardly ever gets sick!!! It hasn't been fun at all - but I have got lots of knitting for my niece (yes I am calling it a niece, even though we don't know yet)!!
Henry at Grandma's being sick and miserable and refusing to go to sleep.
Finally he found the comfiest, warmest place in the house - on Grandma's recliner chair, with two blankets and his "guggie" in front of the heater. Wish I could have joined him!!
We went through a jigsaw puzzle craze in the last week or so of school - found a set of four 1000 piece Top Gear puzzles going out very cheap. They have been a lot of fun to do, even Jamie and Thomas were able to help quite a bit.
Thomas has started cooking Sunday dessert. This one was a cherry pie. Pastry made from scratch, filling had to be precooked. It was so delicious and smelt awesome! He needed a bit of help with this recipe, but is getting pretty good at following a recipe, won't be long and I will be able to leave him on his own to make dessert.
Jamie the geek was very excited to see this on our weather station one morning. The outside temperature was exactly half the inside temperature!
Henry at Scitech, playing music. The dinosaurs were far too scary for him!
Thomas concentrating hard on a tilt table maze. He managed to get all the way through it and even earned a cheer from a complete stranger who became drawn in to watching him work his way through.
Jamie with his favourite dinosaur. I think he liked the dinosaur exhibit (and the puppet show at the museum the next day) but his knowledge of dinosaurs far surpasses any of these kids entertainment things we find now!
Enjoy,
Amanda
